What Does the Christian Bible Say About Abortion? What the “Bible” Says

I’ll tell you, and below your own bible will tell you the same thing: your God and bible doesn’t prohibit abortion at all. In fact, not only does it mention the killing of pregnant women (and fetus), but it also backs up what my personal belief is, oddly enough. That belief is, a baby is not a person until it takes its first breath. Since a fetus cannot breathe; this is further proof that no ‘murder’ takes place when having an abortion. [Please note: I am not a Christian nor am I religious, rather I am spiritual.]

Why am I writing this if I am not religious?

I’m writing this for any and every Christian woman out there who feels as if they have committed a ‘sin’ or that God is ‘punishing’ them or whatever other non-sense their church and pastor/priest tries to instill upon women whom have an abortion. Don’t buy it, instead if you are going to follow this religion, read your bible and know your facts. Then, stand up for them.

Though I skim through comments, rarely reading more than one word, today one Christian hate comment I decided to read a few words from. And the few words I saw intrigued me. It read something like this (paraphrasing):

“God is closing all the abortion clinics down to stop the evil!” – an anti-choice moron.

I sat for a minute, absorbing the ignorance and stupidity of their comment. So, I figured I should at least break down their ‘statement’ on my page for anyone to read. So let’s get some things straight regarding Christianity and the bible.

Point Number One: Neither the Bible nor”God” mentions abortion; and thus it sure is not deemed deemed as murder nor a ‘sin.’

Point Number Two:  When talking about the life of an infant VS fetus, your God notes that a fetus is alive once it takes its first breath.

Let’s stop here for some proof via quotes from the book itself:

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” — Genesis 2:7 (KJV)

Or if that doesn’t satisfy you, let’s look at Isaiah 9.6-

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder…”

One more verse on breath being that which makes a fetus come to life according to the bible from Ezekiel 37:5-6:

Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

The above story concludes with;

and the breath came into them, and they lived ...– Ezekiel 37:10 (KJV)

And finally, thanks to a Pro-Choice Christian friend of mine for pointing out this verse, Leviticus 27:6, which states the age of a child is based on birth; not conception:

And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver.

I could go on. While the bible doesn’t speak against abortion, it is interesting to note that it does speak of the killing women while pregnant, (Numbers 5:11-31); but that’s just the sick start.

Christian’s, from what I gather, aren’t supposed to be hate-filled; yet, the majority of you guys I come across are nothing less. Please, prove me wrong. Treat people with some respect. And at least know your own bible before preaching.

For now, I won’t go there for the point of this post is to prove not only Christians who claim abortion is murder to be hypocrites, but also it greatly suggests to me and many others; these people need to learn their own bible before going out and preaching hate to innocent women, as well as women in their church. No where in the bible does it even hint that abortion is murder; on the contrary, it actually reaffirms what I’ve been saying all along; a fetus is not a living being until they take their first breath.

So any Christian looking to link murder with abortion needs to admit their faults and move on from their pathetic attacks on women who’ve done no wrong.

When speaking of murder, though, the bible does mention it…just not towards abortion or in the way modern Christians claim. Examples:

Abortion is Not Shunned; Neither is the Killing of Innocent Women, Children or Slaves.
Abortion is Not Shunned; Neither is the Killing of Innocent Women, Children or Slaves.

At least now you have some basic knowledge to remember when you face them: they aren’t going by the bible at all. We knew this though without reading the bible for acting like they act by attacking women online, stalking doctors and other workers, screaming lies at women going in for a medical procedure, killing or destroying clinics and so forth is not very “christian like.”

I’d also like to add, clinics are not being shut because abortion is a “sin”- your own bible says nothing of abortion being murder or a sin. Abortion clinics are being shut down because of religious zealots who think we need wider hallways in a clinic in order for it to be a proper clinic, and things equally absurd.

If you all are truly pro-life, you’d be concerned about the millions of women that die every year (along with your beloved fetus) due to botched self induced abortion. I hate to break it to ya, but you can close down every clinic in America but it will NOT stop abortion. Why is that so hard for these people to understand?

I’d like to end this by saying, after learning about their religion, and the continued lies they spew, the only real reason that I can figure that motivate these people is they want women to stay in our “breeding” place; as the bible does speak of a woman “obeying” her husband and being a good little wife.

Sorry, but that isn’t the life for me, nor is it for the majority of women, thankfully.
